Job Description
1. Patient Care
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with doctors and healthcare teams.
Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, and report changes promptly.
Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV infusions as per doctor’s orders.
Assist in diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
2. Nursing Procedures
Follow infection control protocols and maintain hygiene standards.
Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients.
Assist in emergency situations (CPR, trauma care, psychiatric crisis intervention, etc.).
Handle medical equipment safely and ensure proper sterilization.
3. Communication & Coordination
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medication use, and health maintenance.
Report any unusual incidents, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions.
4. Administrative Duties
Maintain daily ward reports, treatment charts, and inventory of medicines and supplies.
Ensure proper documentation for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Support in training junior nurses, nursing students, and healthcare assistants.
5. Compliance
Adhere to hospital policies, medical ethics, and legal regulations.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Participate in quality improvement programs and audits.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
Registration: Valid Nursing Council registration.
Experience: 0-5 years (experience in psychiatric/critical care preferred).
Skills: Clinical expertise, patient care, empathy, teamwork, communication, and time management.
